How does withdrawing a voucher purchase work?
General information
From 19 June 2026, a new legal requirement regarding digital cancellation will apply to contracts concluded online. For this reason, the ADDITIVE+ VOUCHERS widget has been enhanced with an integrated cancellation function. Buyers can cancel their voucher purchase directly via the widget.
The cancellation is submitted through a form in the voucher widget. Once submitted, notifications are automatically sent to the voucher purchaser and the company.
INFO: ADDITIVE merely provides the technical means for submitting the cancellation request. The company is responsible for reviewing the request, cancelling the voucher and refunding the purchase amount.
Where can I find the cancellation button in the widget?
The ‘Withdraw a purchase’ button is displayed on the home page of the voucher widget. The button is located at the bottom of the widget, below the available payment methods. It is not displayed on individual voucher pages or during checkout.

This feature is enabled by default and can be disabled, if required, in the ADDITIVE+ VOUCHERS settings using the ‘Show withdrawal button in widget’ slider; this setting applies at account level to all voucher widgets.

How does the withdrawal process work for the buyer?
+ Click on ‘Withdraw a purchase’
+ A form will open for you to enter your cancellation details
+ Enter the required information (voucher code & email address)
+ Click on ‘Submit withdrawal’
INFO: The email address provided must match the one used when purchasing the voucher.

What happens after the withdrawal request has been submitted?
Once submitted, the company automatically receives an email containing the key details of the cancellation request, the voucher purchaser receives a confirmation of receipt, and the transaction is logged in ADDITIVE+ VOUCHER as ‘Voucher cancelled’.

The confirmation email sent to the buyer also includes the company’s contact details so that they can be contacted directly should they have any questions.
ATTENTION: The voucher will not be cancelled automatically, nor will the purchase amount be refunded automatically. Both steps must be carried out manually by the company.

What happens if the voucher widget’s home page is not embedded on the website?
The withdrawal button is always displayed on the home page of the voucher widget. However, if guests are linked directly to an individual voucher page on the website and the widget’s home page is therefore not visible, the withdrawal form can be accessed directly via the route /#!/withdrawal in the URL. In this case, the link to the withdrawal form should be clearly visible on the website so that guests can find it even without visiting the widget’s home page.

If necessary, the company can also send the guest the direct link to the withdrawal form, with the suffix /#!/withdrawal, should the guest contact them directly regarding a withdrawal. Clicking this link opens the withdrawal form directly in a pop-up window.
